Singer B-Red has claimed that the Adeleke family does not need politics for financial benefits, insisting that they have enjoyed generational wealth for a long time.
B-Red, who is the son of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, made the statement during an interview on the Echo Room podcast, where he said his father and other members of the family joined politics to help people.
He also expressed confidence that Nigeria would improve drastically if his father eventually became president, although he admitted that he would not want Governor Adeleke to take on the role because of the pressure involved.
“If my dad, Governor Ademola Adeleke, becomes the President of Nigeria, things will improve drastically. We don’t need politics for money; we have been rich for a long time. My family is only in politics to help. But I don’t want my dad to be President because the pressure will be too much,” he said.
The Adeleke family has produced prominent political figures, including the late Isiaka Adeleke, who served as a senator and governor, and the current Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.
Several members of the family, including Afrobeats star Davido, also hold positions in the Osun State Government.
